Confetti Spring Shoot 2017

October 06, 2016 by Helen Devine

A beautiful still captured by Story of Eve.

Last month I was delighted to have been asked to to do makeup for a spread in the Spring 2017 issue of Irelands leading Wedding Magazine Confetti.  It was showcasing the wonderful designer Catherine Deane and her amazing new collection.  Though born in Ireland, Catherine was raised in South Africa, based in London for many years and now lives in Hong Kong where she bases herself.  She has a boutique in London and has just recently opened in New York! Catherine has also dressed many celebrities including Kim Kardasian, Beyonce, Selena Gomez and Fergie to name but a few.  And once you see her designs it is clear why.

It took place in Springfield Castle in Drumcollogher, Co. Limerick.

Beautiful Springfield Castle.  Pic from Springfield Castle website.

I have been lucky enough to work here before for a few weddings - one of which I featured here in a previous blog post of Alexandra. It is the most beautiful setting and perfect for an intimate wedding or even if you had a group of family or girlfriends and wanted something a bit different for a weekend or a few days away. I just wanted to share some of behind the scenes pics. It was a fabulous 2 days and we had a fantastic team. I am so excited to see the finished results.

The look was very unkept, clean skin and a a subtle but smoky eye.  Clare was such a stunning model we had an easy job with her.

This is a short post as I will do a more detailed one when the feature is out at Christmas, will keep the suspense going for another little while.

Sneak peak !

TheNakedblondie and Glenisk

September 08, 2016 by Helen Devine

Last month I had the pleasure of working with my favourite boss lady, TheNakedblondie for a day of filming some of her gorgeous recipes with Irish dairy company Glenisk.  I was over the moon when Nicola chose me to be her makeupartist, we have been following eachother on social media now for some time and she had her pick of anyone at all and she chose me so I was thrilled.  I've met with Nicola lots of times and instantly hit it off with her.   We filmed in the most beautiful house in Wicklow in a kitchen fit for a king. Nicola cooked some of her amazing recipes all of which you can find here on Glenisk. Take my word for it when I say they were as delicious as they look. We were lucky enough to be able to sample all the food after she cooked it. I am a huge fan of Nicola, her healthy and positive approach to quick and easy cooking inspires me. She is motivational and has come such a long way, and deserves all the success in the world. We had great craic on the day, and the team at Glenisk were so welcoming and lovely to us all.

I kept Nicola’s makeup fresh and natural, she has such pretty features I really only wanted to enhance her eyes, and towards the end of the day we smoked it up a little. Her happy cheery personality just shone through the camera!

Here are some behind the scenes pics and again please do check out her recipes here.

Nicola's hair and styling was by the amazing Jennifer of The Style Shaper

Shoot days are genuinely quite long and tiresome, but I can honestly say I had a ball with these two!

Thanks to the team at Glenisk and TheNakedblondie for having me,
